Unknown Gunmen believed to be kidnappers have kidnapped Godwin Aigbogun, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman of Edo State’s Ward 9 Orhionmwon Local Government Area.
It was learned that the event occurred on Monday as the APC chairman of Ugu ward 9—a village in the council—was on his way home from the farm in Ologbo-nugu community.
Further information revealed that the victim’s vehicle was stopped at gunpoint by assailants who then took him into the wilderness after emerging from the nearby bush.
The kidnappers who are mostly referred to as unknown gunmen have gotten in touch, according to a family source who asked to remain anonymous, and they are seeking ransom for huge amount of money.
“The Edo State police command on July 18, 2022 at about 2052hrs received a complaint from one Godwin Erhahon of Ologbo-nugu village in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, that his brother, One Godwin Aigbogun of the same village was suspected to have been kidnapped and whisked into the bush by hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers,” Nwabuzor said.
Therefore, Nwabuzor asked the people of Edo to maintain their composure so as not to jeopardize efforts to free the victim and maybe apprehend the kidnappers.
