Former president of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Melvin Pinnick  says it is unfortunate that Super Eagles could not make it to the Qatar 2022 world cup adding that it would have been Nigeria’s world cup.

Pinnick was speaking on Arise Television breakfast programme ‘The morning show.’

The  sport veteran and former chairman, Delta State Sports Commission marked his birthday on yesterday on the December 1, which he celebrated with the president of FIFA, Gianni Fantino and other of his FIFA colleagues.

While Pinnick wished Nigeria’s Super Eagle had attended the world, it would be recalled that he was blamed for Nigeria’s failure to qualify for Qatar world cup 2022.

The Former Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, had  criticized  Amaju Pinnick, the former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, for the team’s failure to pick a ticket to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Rohr said: “Pinnick said my dismissal will avert a disaster, but in the end he created the disaster that cost Nigeria the ticket to the World Cup.”

“I regret that I did not take my team to win the World Cup, I regret that my players will not be at the World Cup even though they deserve to be there.”
