The Nigeria Office for Developing the Indigenous Telecom Sector, an organization housed in the Nigerian Communications Commission, is hosting an exhibition in Lagos at the time he made this announcement.

He claimed that the telecom industry already made a significant contribution to the Nigerian economy and that raising taxes would be detrimental to its expansion.

He, however, encouraged the administration to take into account taxing other economic sectors that aren’t helping to advance the country.
