Former Governor of Jigawa State, Ibrahim Turaki, has said the 2023 Presidential election for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would have been workover had the party picked Governor Nyesom Wike as vice president.
Turaki said this on Arise television on when he featured its News Night programme
He said the party’s presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, make a mistake not to pick Wike who contested with him.
The former Governor said Wike was a better candidate for Vice President than Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.
He maintained that with Okowa as vice president, the Peoples Democratic Party has a lot of work to do if it wants to win the election.
Speaking further he pointed that the All Progressives Congress, APC, has a tough hurdle to cross with its Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket which has been widely criticised. He said the Christian North will protest with their votes.
Turaki opined that APC will lose election in the North due to high level of insecurity in the region.
However, he commented that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi will not win the president becuase of lack of parry structures.
