Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, says he is proud of Benue youths in the entertainment industry for using their talents to promote the State
Governor made this statement through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Terver Akase
at the “Book of Nicodemus Chapter 20:22” a comedy show organised by Benue-born comedian, popularly known as Pastor Nicodemus Mbatsavtampu, which held Sunday night, December 11th, 2022 at New Castle Events Centre, Makurdi.
Ortom expressed optimism that with the quality of artists abundant in Benue, the state would in no distant time assume the status of an entertainment hub in the country.
According to him, “When we say we will make Benue the entertainment capital of this country, we mean what we say. In no distant time, people will come from other parts of the world to Makurdi given the quality of entertainers Benue is producing.”
The Governor said he is committed to creating an enabling environment for those with the potential to flourish, “We know we have the talents and the human capital to do this and the Government is also committed to this task,” he emphasized.
Governor Ortom commended the large crowd of fans who turned up to show solidarity for the Benue born comedian saying: “I want to thank all of you for being here. Benue is the best. Anywhere you go in this country, you will find a Benue person doing something good. We are noble people, a people of quality in all that we do. Benue has done Nigeria as a country proud in different aspects. We have excelled in the military, sports, politics as well as entertainment”, he stated.

Those who accompanied the Governor’s representative was accompanied by Principal Special Assistant on Project Monitoring, Barrister Franc Utoo, State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Bemgba Iortyom, President, Benue Youth Forum, Terrence Kuanum as well as Senior Special Assistants to the Governor, Dooshima Uza and Nathaniel Nongu.
Popular entertainers within and outside the state including ace singer, Francis Atela, OD Woods, Sonaya, Funny Gee, Sarkin Dariya among others put up electrifying performances at the show.
