Benue State civil servants have reportedly rejected the 40, 000 new minimum proposal by the State Governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia against the 70,000 minimum wage approved by President Bola Tinubu.

Newsflow learned that the governor proposed 40, 000  as new minimum last week in a meeting with union bodies in the state.

According to our findings the  Governor said there is no enough money for the 70, 000 minimum wage stating further that he needs money to complete the numerous projects he has started across the state.

It was learnt that the union leaders rejected the offer, however told the Governor they will consult their members and revert to him.

Meanwhile, some civil servants have expressed disappointment at the 40,000 proposal by the Governor stressing that it would be a daylight robbery should it happen.

Rivers state — N85,000

Bayelsa state – N80,000

Niger – N80,000

Enugu – N80,000

Akwa Ibom state – 80,000

Abia – N70,000

Adamawa – N70,000

Anambra – N70,000

Jigawa – N70,000

Borno – N70,000

Ebonyi – N75,000

Edo – N70,000

Delta – N77,000

Gombe – N71,000

Ogun – N77,000

Kebbi – N75,000

Ondo – N73,000

Kogi – N72,000

Kwara – N70,000
