More than 20 members, including newly elected executive officials of Abuja Harmony Lions Club, on Saturday participated in an intensive Club Quality Initiative (CQI) training aimed at strengthening the club’s operations, leadership capacity and membership growth.
The training was held at Novare Central Mall, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, and was facilitated by Past District Governor, Lion Lynda Odu-Okpeseyi MJF NLCF alongside Lion Linda Collins NLCF.
Participants received practical sessions on goal setting, strategic planning, prioritising club objectives, time management, protocol and other key aspects of effective club administration as the programme also featured assessment exercises, culminating in the development of actionable goals to guide the club’s activities.
Speaking during the training, Lion Lynda Odu-Okpeseyi urged the newly elected executives and members to put the knowledge gained into practice to advance the growth and effectiveness of the club and also encouraged them to align their activities with the District Governor’s theme, “Wired for Quality Service,” and Lions International President’s theme, “Rooted in Service.”
She commended the new executive for organising the training and the members for their enthusiasm and active participation throughout the training while encouraging them to sustain the momentum for a stronger and more progressive club and assured the club of her continued support.
The President of Abuja Harmony Lions Club, Lion Oluwamuyiwa Olayinka described the training as an eye-opener that provided deeper insight into the club’s operations.
According to him, the knowledge acquired will significantly improve the club’s administration, goal setting, project implementation and membership development.
He thanked the facilitators for delivering practical, easy-to-understand sessions and praised members for their active participation and assured that the resolutions reached during the training would be fully implemented to improve the club’s overall performance.
Also speaking at the event is a standing member of the District Global Leadership Team, Lion Abayomi Ayegbusi MJF NLCF, who commended the club’s leadership for organising the capacity-building programme. He urged members to ensure that the lessons learnt are reflected in the club’s activities and wished Abuja Harmony Lions Club continued growth and greater success.
The training was attended by Region 1 Chairperson, Lion Austin Ominiabhos NLCF, Region 2 Chairperson, Lion Peter Patrick NLCF, Region 1 Zone Chairperson, Lion Maya Clement NLCF among others.
