Benue State Government has demoted sixty nine principal local government officers from their current positions.
According to findings by newsflow, the affected officers include all 23 serving Directors General Services and Administration, DGSAs, 23 local government Treasurers and 23 local government Cashiers.
The findings further revealed that the demoted officers of the 23 local government councils have been ordered to handover to the most senior officers in the local government within 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the scheduled Joint Account Allocation Committee which was to hold January 31, is in doubt and rumoured to have been suspended indefinitely.
