Chieftaincy title: Facts have emerged on why the Tongov traditional council in collaboration with Tongov Community Development Association, honoured the Seniors Special Assistant to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Hon. Torhile Uchi with the title of Yange I Mbanoughul (Sun of Mbanoughul).
Speaking to newsmen at the event, one of the people honoured by the Tongov Traditional Council and Tongov community Development Association, Hon. Oradi Nicodemus, who is the Supervisory councilor for Works, Housing, Lands and Survey, Tarka Local Government, described Hon Uchi as a beacon of hope, who is committed to community development.
According to Oradi, Hon. Uchi, is a name synonymous with progress and community development.
“Torhile Uchi is a name synonymous with progress and community development, who has been making waves in the Uchi community and beyond.
“As a dedicated leader and philanthropist, Uchi has been tirelessly working to improve the lives of those around him, leaving an indelible mark on the community”, he said.
He continued, “One of Uchi’s most notable achievements is the provision of a transformer for the Uchi community, bringing electricity and light to the area. This milestone has had a profound impact on the daily lives of residents, enabling them to access basic necessities like power and connectivity.”
He added that Hon. Uchi’s dedication to community development is further evident in his successful implementation of the electricity project at Tse-Ugba in Tarka LGA.
Oradi further disclosed the electricity projects have boosted the economic fortunes of the area and enhanced the overall quality of life in the benefiting communities.
In the area of education, Hon. Oradi disclosed that the aide of the SGF through his foundation, the Torhile Andrew Uchi Foundation has also declared free Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), West African Examination Council (WAEC), National Examination Council(NECO), and Basic Certificate Exams(BECE) registration for students within Mbanoughul, thereby opening doors to education and career opportunities for young minds within his community.
