Ohakim, who almost escaped, had his backup car bombed, killing the four police officers in his convoy.

Ohakim was returning after a visit with two of his children, according to information provided by our source.

According to a source close to the former governor, Ohakim’s driver’s bravery enabled the ex-governor to flee.

The source said, “his excellency was the main target but his driver was smart enough to beat them because they were driving to block him.

“Disappointed that their main target had escaped, they blocked his backup vehicle and burnt it. The four policemen with him burnt.”

Imo State has become the epic center in recent times regarding cases of insecurity. Unknown gunmen have attacked people and facility in the state.

On 30 May 2021, Mr Gulak, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, was shot dead by gunmen in Owerri, Imo State.

Also, INEC facilities have been attacked too.
