The Nasarawa State Commissioner of information, Mohammed Yakubu Lawal and his son Mushab Mohammed Yakubu Lawal yesterday, August 15, 2022, were kidnapped at his residence, GRA, Nasarawa Eggon.

about 9pm when the gunmen stormed his residence and abducted him together with his son.

However, the gunmen later released the kidnapped son of the commissioner.

Till now, the whereabouts of the commissioner can not be ascertained as contact has not been established while details of the abduction are still sketchy.

Meanwhile, the Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of the State information commissioner.

It made this known in a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Nansel Ramhan, made available to journalists today morning.

“On 15/8/202 at about 2045hrs, the attention of Policemen on routine patrol was drawn to the sound of sporadic gunshots in the Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state.”

“Upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that unknown gunmen while shooting sporadically, invaded the residence of one Hon. Yakubu Lawal Addah forcefully abducted him to an unknown destination.”
