The mass wedding took place at Saint Gabriel’s Parish, Tsavnum in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State and officiated by the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Katsina-Ala, Most Reverend Isaac Duku.

Speaking to journalists, Adelah said the decision to sponsor other couples to receive the sacrament of marriage in the Catholic church was born out of their desire to bring more people closer to God to also receive the blessings they received ten years ago as couple.

Adelah said the gesture was only thanksgiving to God and also give back to the society, noting that his family will continue to support the newly wedded couples and the church to grow.

He urged the couples to imbibe the spirit of love, understanding, patience and tolerance in order to have a peaceful marriage.

Mr Julius kpa-atom who spoke on behalf of the couples lauded the gesture done to them by Mr Adelah stating that he has shown them the right way to worshipping God, stressing that  they are now encouraged to propagate the good news to others and will live in love with their spouse.

Earlier during the Mass, the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Katsina-Ala, Most Revd. Isaac Dugu in his homily advised the couples to be faithful to each other and always place God first above any other thing for them to have a fruitful marriage.

Bishop Dugu appreciated Cleopas Adelah and his wife for their continued support to the church particularly for sponsoring couples to receive the sacrament of matrimony and prayed for God’s blessing, guidance, mercy and protection upon the Adelah family and the Christian community of St. Gabriel’s Parish Tsavnum.

The newly wedded couples were later hosted to a reception organized in their honour by the family of Adelah where they were presented with gifts and cut their first wedding cake.
