In a thrilling Champions League final at the Wembley Stadium in London, England, played June 1 2024, Real Madrid clinched their record-extending 15th title with a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund. Goals from Daniel Carvajal and Vinicius Jnr. sealed the win for Los Blancos, who showcased their trademark resilience and clinical finishing.

The first half saw Borussia Dortmund create significant opportunities but fail to capitalize. Karim Adeyemi squandered two clear chances, and striker Niclas Fullkrug’s effort struck the post, leaving the German side frustrated as they went into the break level.

Real Madrid’s breakthrough came in the 74th minute. Veteran midfielder Toni Kroos delivered a perfect corner, which Daniel Carvajal met with a powerful header, sending the ball into the net and giving Madrid the crucial lead.

Dortmund’s hopes of a comeback were dashed in the 83rd minute following a defensive error. Jude Bellingham seized the opportunity and delivered a fine pass to Vinicius Jnr., who made no mistake and slotted home the second goal with his left. This goal not only secured the win but also underscored Vinicius Jnr.’s growing reputation as one of the world’s best, putting him firmly in contention for the Ballon d’Or.

The victory marks Carlo Ancelotti’s fifth Champions League triumph and his third with Real Madrid, further cementing his legacy as one of the greatest managers in football history.

As the final whistle blew, Real Madrid players and fans celebrated another historic night in the club’s illustrious European history, while Dortmund was left to rue missed opportunities and defensive lapses.
