Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has returned to Nigeria after a two-week working leave in UK and USA where he participated in international Summits.

The Governor got back today Wednesday, July 20th, 2022.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Nathaniel Ikyur, top party and State Government officials received the Governor at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International wing of the airport.

Those who received the Governor included the Benue State Chairman of the PDP and Deputy Governorship candidate of the party for the 2023 elections, Sir John Ngbede, Dr. Joe Nyam, State Secretary of the PDP.

Senior aides of Governor Ortom were also present to welcome him including Dr. Alex Ter Adum, MD/CEO, BIPC Ltd, Arc. Joe Ikyaagba and several others.

Earlier in July 2022, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Terver Akase reported in a press statement the invitation extended to the Governor to attend two international summits peacebuilding.

The statement said Governor Ortom was to invited to serve as Special Guest at two international summits this week in the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

“The events will focus on peace-building, social justice and sustainable development in Nigeria, as well as in other parts of the world.

The summit in the United Kingdom which commences tomorrow Monday, July 04, 2022, is put together by the Gideon and Funmi Para-Mallam Peace Foundation, while that in the United States is organized by the International Committee on Nigeria, ICON.”
