The Federal Government, FG, has given Benue State and other states 3 billion Naira for the management of disaster in the state.

The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, disclosed this when Speaker of <span;>the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas paid him a commiseration visit at the Presidential Villa over the ravaging flood in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

What the vice President said about the  3 billion

The vice president writing on his Facebook page said: “Today in my office, I received Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas on a commiseration visit at the Presidential Villa over the ravaging flood that submerged major roads, houses, and shops in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, following the overflow of Alau dam.

“During our interaction, I reiterated the commitment of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to partnering with the 36 states of the federation to address the challenges of flood and other natural disasters in Nigeria.

“This is the reason why the President recently approved the sum of N3 billion for each state of the federation to tackle natural disasters such as flooding as well as other challenges.”
