As Deltans celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the creation of Delta State, Executive Chairman of the State’s Revenue Service, Hon (Chief) Solomon Ighrakpata has commended the significant progress made so far in building a strong and prosperous economy.
Hon Ighrakpata in a telephone interview on the topic “Delta At 33”, paid glowing tributes to past and present Governors of the State for their service towards achieving the vision of the founding fathers.
The IRS Boss stated that the Delta state’s creation on August 27, 1991, marked the beginning of a new era of growth and development as a distinct entity in the country Nigeria.
Hon Ighrakpata pointed out that as the Executive Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Service, he is happy to be associated with the present administration in the state led by Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, for its commitment at ensuring sustainable good future for the state.
The former Deputy Chief Whip of the State Assembly who represented Uvwie Constituency in the House, stated that he was particularly happy as the 33rd Anniversary of the creation of Delta State, coincided with his 30th wedding anniversary.

He said “Today, Delta is one of the leading states in Nigeria, with a thriving economy and a bright future ahead. I am proud to be part of those that have played a crucial role in this journey.
“Thank God for the determination of the present Governor of the State, Rt Hon Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessors. Delta is on the path of being ranked the best in the comity of states in Nigeria.
“I am also very happy as I led my family in prayers this morning to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our holy matrimony. The journey has been great and fulfilling and I thank God for His mercies”.

The IRS Executive Chairman, particularly commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his efforts in promoting economic progress, social welfare and infrastructure development in Delta state.
Ighrakpata assured of commitment to supporting the government’s vision by ensuring efficient and effective revenue collection, mobilization, and administration in the state.
