A Makurdi High Court, under the jurisdiction of Honourable Justice T.A. Kume, has today annulled the seven-member caretaker committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State.
The ruling came after a legal challenge by Austin Agada, the APC state chairman, contesting the National Working Committee’s (NWC) dissolution of the state’s executive committee. Justice Kume ruled that the NWC’s action was unconstitutional and violated the applicants’ right to a fair hearing.

In his ruling, Justice Kume remarked: “Even in the Garden of Eden, God exemplified the importance of fair hearing by asking questions before taking action against Adam. In stark contrast, the National Working Committee denied Agada a fair hearing. Shouldn’t the Committee, as mortal beings, strive to uphold the same standards of justice and fairness demonstrated by God?”
Consequently, the court declared all actions undertaken by the caretaker committee null and void, reaffirming Austin Agada’s leadership.
