The House of Representatives member for Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency,  Chief  Philip Agbese, has been reported to have narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in a dramatic turn of events during a constituency outreach event held in Igumale,

Those who witness the incident alleged that the assailants, believed to have been hired by the caretaker chairman, ambushed Chief Agbese and his entourage during the outreach program in Igumale, the capital of Ado Local Government Area, but with security intervention, Agbese was whishked away.

The report stated that several of the  suspected perpetrators who were  apprehended have confessed to the crime and allegedly mentioning the chairman of the local government and House of Assembly from the zone.
