The social media was awash yesterday with the news of a rare memory feat accomplished by Melchizedek Fanen Tim.
The movie producer emerged overall best in memory recitation at the just concluded Sunday School National Conference of the Universal Reformed Church of Christ, abbreviated and called NKST in Tiv.
At the conference which was held at Wergba in Tarka local government area of Benue State, Mr Tim recited 4,578 verses of the Tiv Bible within five hours.
He set an unprecedented record since the establishment of the Sunday School in 1980.
“Today, I achieved a milestone by breaking a record that had stood since the inception of the Sunday School National Conference in 1980,” an excited Tim wrote on Facebook yesterday.
“Despite consistently participating in the recitation of memory verses at the national level since 2008, I never secured the overall top position. Even individuals I mentored in this competition have retired, yet I remained unnoticed.”

He stressed that “despite numerous encouragements to resign, I resolved not to give up until I set an unbreakable record.”
Born on 3rd February, 1989, the native of Ushongo local government in Benue State is a graduate of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
He has directed and produced numerous films in English and Tiv.
