Executive Secretary, Benue State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Doctor Emmanuel Shior says renewed killings in parts of the State have added more care burden on Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs.
Dr Emmanuel ShiorAddressing newsmen at the agency’s monthly distribution of food items to IDPs at the agency’s headquarters in Makurdi, Doctor Shior says the care burden is having serious toll on the Benue State Government.
He notes that purchases of relief materials for IDPs requires huge funds.

The Executive Secretary appeals to the National Emergency Management Agency and other development partners to scale up their support to tackle the enormous challenges posed by the IDPs phenomenon.
Doctor Shior also calls on the Federal Government to find a lasting solution to the herdsmen attacks and killings so that the IDPs can return to their ancestral homes.
