Special Adviser to the Benue State on Media and Publicity, Mr Terver Akase says prolific Super Falcons striker, Francisca Ordega has not only won countless laurels for Nigerian football fans but also the hearts of less privileged people through her humanitarian works.
Akase stated this Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in Makurdi during the launch of the 10th Anniversary of the Francisca Ordega Foundation and N30 Million Appeal Fund/Unveiling of the foundation’s scholarship scheme for the less privileged.
The former governorship aspirant praised Ordega’s determination and consistency which he said have kept the female football star at the top for over a decade in a sterling career that has brought numerous honours to the country.
Mr Akase who served as Chairman of the occasion, commended Ordega’s initiative of a foundation to cater for the less privileged in areas of sports, education and health, urging good spirited individuals and organizations to support the Benue-born soccer star.
He said Governor Samuel Ortom is proud of Ordega’s achievements as well as the successes of other talented Benue youths who have distinguished themselves in their chosen careers.
Earlier in her speech, Francisca Ordega thanked those who have in many ways encouraged and supported her career, stating that her foundation was a way of giving back to the society, to inspire other young people never to give up on their dreams.

Other speakers at the event including the President General Mzough u Tiv, CP Iorbee Ihagh (rtd), Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Solid Minerals, Hon Bernard Unenge, President Customary Court of Appeal, Hon Justice Cosmas Idye OFR, represented by Hon Ben-King Atighir, all encouraged Benue youths, especially girls to emulate Francisca Ordega and make Benue proud.
High point of the event was the unveiling of the scholarship for the beneficiaries
Some others who also graced the occasion included parents of the Super Falcons forward, Mr Joseph and Mrs Christiana Ordega, Governor Ortom’s Orderly, Inspector Jeremiah Avungu, Rev Fr. Solomon Mfa, Chairman of Gboko Local Government, Isaac Mtom, represented by Paul Ikyugun and a host of other dignitaries.
The event also had performances by music stars such as Od Woods, the Egyptian Cairo, Sonaya, among other artists.
