Gov Samuel Ortom believes in competence, and his mantra is, “If you chop money, money will chop you” and he has lived the true meaning of that creed.
Incontrovertible, in 2019, Dr Stanley Ugah, State Programme Manager, ‘Saving One Milion Lives’, was sacked over allegations of embezzlement of funds. few names have followed that path with Dr Ugah, this, clearly shows that the Governor has ZERO TOLERANCE, when it comes to corruption.
The Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars FC Dominic Iorfa has been involved in gross misappropriation of funds amounting to over #350 million being money released to him through the Accountant-Generals office, for match execution, players and officials salaries and allowances covering a period of 4 months. (March-June 2022)
Iorfa has failed to pay salaries and allowances since his reappointment on the 22nd of March 2022 and he has been nonchalant about it, claiming that the mandate given to him by the Gov is to rescue the club from the drop zone and nothing else matters, a job he has also failed to do.
With his ancient football administrative methods, Iorfa will be seen on match days given out instructions and making substitutions from the VIP stand, undermining the first team coach Baba Ganaru.
Coupled with his love for diabolic, sharp practices and bribing of match officials rather than improving on the welfare of the Club’s officials for optimum performance.
The club’s Chairman Engr Benson Abounu has failed to respond to questions bordering on salaries, but sources close to Agber and Iorfa that don’t want their names on print, have confirmed that he receives his monthly allowances.
The Sources further stated that two board members have written petitions to the club’s Chairman notably on Iorfa’s arrogant behavior against players and officials, non payment of salaries and allowances.The chairman has failed to call for a board and management meeting since Dominic Iorfa’s reappointment to address these concerns.

The club chairman Engr Abounu who was among the protagonist of the coup plotters, ousted the previous administration, his allies are, State Director of Sports, State BAFA Chairman, Fidelis Antyumbe, Daniel Uza, a former coach with Lobi Stars from Gwer West now PSA to the Governor have all been beneficiaries of Dominic Iorfa’s financial recklessness the sources alleged.
Now is the time for Gov Samuel Ortom to act, is the time for him to invoke “If you chop money, money will chop you” and sack, prosecute Dominic Iorfa and his co Travellers.
