A large crowd of youths today occupy Benue State Government House to pay a solidarity visit on Governor Samuel Ortom.
The youths who were drawn from the MINDA (Masev, Ihyarev and Nongov Development Association) area comprising of Makurdi, Guma, Gwer East and Gwer West local government areas of Benue State said their one million march was to identify with the Governor Ortom and to assure him of their support in his senatorial election and other PDP elections.
The group said they are fully behind the governor, and he should count on them.
Speaking further, they said expressed disappointment over the comment of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, where he accused the Governor of profiling the Fulani ethnicity.
The group asked Atiku to retract his comment and apologize to Governor Samuel Ortom and Benue People.
Meanwhile, Governor Ortom thanked them for their support for his senatorial ambition and his administration.
Atiku, recently in Kano, while addressing newsmen accused Governor Ortom of profiling the Fulani, stating as reason why he is angry with the Benue State governor.
Governor Samuel Ortom is contesting for the Benue North West senatorial seat in the 2023 general election.
