Former Military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamasi Babanjida, has asked the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu whether he is being allowed to rest as he goes about campaigning.
Babanjida asked Tinubu when he visited him at his Minna residence, whether his campaign team is allowing him to rest at all considering that he is older than almost all his campaign team members.
“Are they allowing to you rest at all? They are all young men.” He said.

Tinubu’s visit was part of his nationwide consultation on his 2023 presidential aspiration.
After meeting with Babangida, Tinubu was also hosted by Abubakar Sani Bello, governor of Niger state.
Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos state, had recently expressed his interest in vying for the highest office in the country.
Though the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate said he was in Niger to commiserate with the State government but decided to visit the former military head of State who he described as enigma.
He said: “If you (Press) restrict my visit to this house, that is it. Generally, I came to Niger state to commiserate with the Governor and the people of Niger state. And so, I can’t stop by without paying a courtesy call to the enigma, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.”
Asked what was discussed at the meeting, Tinubu replied: “He gave me his prayers”.

Those who accompanied him on the visit were the Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello; Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, Hon. James Faleke and Hon. Ibrahim Abdulahi, members of the House of Representatives from Lagos and Niger states respectively; and Senator Abu Fari from Katsina
