As the 8th National Youth Games kicks off today in Asaba, Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has charged State Contingent in the sports festival to go for gold.
Speaker Charges state participants as youth games commences
Rt Hon Guwor who was at the Steve Keshi Stadium, Asaba for the opening ceremony of the Youth Games, urged the Delta team to remember that they carry the hopes and aspirations of the state on their shoulders.
The Speaker in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, enjoined the contingent to show the nation the true spirit that is Delta State.
“Dear Delta State contingent, as you compete in the 8th National Youth Games, remember that you carry the hopes and aspirations of our state on your shoulders. Show the nation the true spirit of Delta State.”
Guwor said resilience, determination, and excellence are the way to go, stressing that every necessary step must be taken to make the state proud.
For the contingents from other states, the Speaker said, “To our brothers and sisters from other states, we welcome you to Delta State with open arms.
“May the spirit of friendship and sportsmanship guide you throughout the games. May we all win together in the spirit of unity and camaraderie”.
Rt Hon Guwor welcomed visitors to the State for the Youth Games and bid them warm welcome.
“We are honored to host the 8th National Youth Games and showcase our hospitality, culture, and beauty.
