The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has extended his condolences to the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, following the death of his younger brother, Mr. Bernard Tyozenda Ortom.
In a statement released on Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike described the passing of Bernard Tyozenda Ortom as painful and prayed for the repose of his soul.
Expressing his sympathies, the Minister urged former Governor Ortom and the entire Ortom Adorogo family of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, to remain strong and take solace in God, the ultimate giver and taker of life.
“The news of the death of Mr. Bernard Tyozenda Ortom came to me as a rude shock, and I understand the feeling of loss that must be weighing heavily on my brother and friend, His Excellency, Dr. Samuel Ortom, at this moment,” Wike stated.
He acknowledged the pain and shock that accompany such a loss but emphasized the need to find comfort in the inevitability of life’s cycle.
“However, as painful and shocking as this death may be, I urge that solace should be taken in God, who has made death inevitable.”
Wike further extended his sympathies on behalf of his family, friends, and associates, offering prayers for strength and fortitude for the bereaved family.
“On behalf of my family, friends, and associates, I commiserate with you over this sad incident. It is my prayer that God, in His infinite mercies, will grant you and the entire Ortom Adorogo family the fortitude to bear this irreparable and painful loss,” he added.
The condolence message highlights Wike’s continued support for his political allies and his recognition of the importance of solidarity during moments of grief.
