Latest reports from Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo Local Government Areas of Benue State indicate that, stakeholders and officials of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from the aforementioned local governments have shunned Governor Hyacinth Alia’s ‘Thank you visit’ to the area.
Governor Alia is expected to interact with the people of Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo LGAs today(Saturday) at LGEA Primary School Okpoga, by 2pm.
According to a member of the APC from Ado local government, Hon. Ejembi Oche, in protest to the alleged marginalisation of Idoma people in terms of appointments and projects as well as total disregard for the party and poor handling of the security situation in the area and the state in general, stakeholders and party officials have resolved to stay away from the event in Okpoga.
“During the campaigns, Governor Hyacinth Alia promised to construct the Otukpo-Igumale-Agila road in Ado LGA in his 100 days in office. He has not even constructed a gutter in Ado after a year in office, talk more of the road.”

On the security situation in the state, Hon. Ejembi said: ” Look at the security challenge in our area, not even a condolence messages has been sent to us by the governor, neither has he condemned any of the attacks on our people.”
A stakeholder from Okpokwu, Mr Peter Olofu, disclosed that stakeholders who have been sidelined by the governor in the last one year will stay away from the visit as a protest to the marginalisation of Idoma people and the party.
Another member of the APC from Orokam, Ogbadibo Local Government Area, Hon. Agnes Onah, disclosed that leaders of the party, beginning from the highest ranking office holder down to the least will not partake in the festival of Insults on Idoma people and the APC.
According to her, attending the event amounts to endorsing the marginalization of Idoma people under the present administration.
