North Central Foundation for Unity and Development Initiative (NCFOUDI), has appealed to Nigerians to exercise restraint, and call off the planned “endbadGovernanceprotest” slated for next week in the interest of peace and development of the country.
The forum acknowledged the hardship been faced by Nigerians due to inflation, skyrocketed food hike and other challenges but believes the ongoing reforms and economic policies of President Bola Tinubu will soon turn around the fortunes of the country for the better.
It called on those planning the protest to sheathe their swords, even as it is their constitutional right, stressing that the protest is coming at a wrong time.

In a statement by the Director General North Central Foundation for Unity and Development Initiative, Comrade Vitalis Hwande, the group noted that though Nigerians have suffered enough but the global economic recession, insecurity in Nigeria, catastrophic policy decisions of previous administrations and other factors contributed largely to present economic situation of the country and president Bola Tinubu is working round the clock through the Renewed Hope Agenda to rebirth the country.
the statement reads in parts: “As a North Central Geopolitical zone , we stand with our leader and Secretary to Government of the Federation SGF Senator Dr George Akume CON,who is Working closely with Mr President, the farmers herders crisis has greatly reduced, and most farmers in IDPs can now access their ancestral homes for farming and in no distance time the food crisis shall be a thing of the past.
“We urge the organizers of the protest to listen to the voice of reason and learn from the ugly experiences of the #EndSars2020 in Nigeria and the recent one in Kenya, where a genuine peaceful protest against bad economic policy of the government was hijacked by hoodlums leading to destructions, looting and mayhem worth billions of Naira.
“Let’s heed to the advice of security agencies, the Defense Headquarters, DSS, and Nigeria Police whose intelligence report has revealed that the intended peaceful protest is about to be highjack hoodlums.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies and reforms might be harsh now but at the end of every tunnel, there will be light.
“He is barely a year in office now. Why don’t we give him time to correct all the abnormalities we have seen in this country, the abnormalities of yesterday. Let’s give him time to correct them so that we can have a country of our collective hopes and aspirations.”
