Manchester City, the defending champion of the English Premier League, overcame a deficit to tie Newcastle 3-3 on Sunday.
At St. James’ Park, City fell behind Newcastle early on but battled back to get a draw.

Five minutes into the game, a goal from the visitors, lkay Gündoan, gave them the lead. However, Miguel Almirón’s goal for the home team in the 28th minute restored parity.

In the 39th minute, Callum Wilson gave Newcastle the lead. Trippier’s thunderous free kick, which went into the left top corner of City’s goal, increased Newcastle’s lead.

Newcastle United 3-3 Manchester City

Newcastle led City by two goals in the half, but City came back to score a goal to tie the score.

Erling Haaland scored a goal for City in the 60th minute, renewing hope of a potential comeback, despite City continually controlling the game.

Four minutes later, City’s Bernardo Silva equalized the score, enabling them to salvage a draw and avoid their first loss of the year.

With seven points from three games, City is now second in the English Premier League behind Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will host visiting Liverpool Football club for a rivalry match on Monday, August 22, 2023.
