Delta WUEDA Chairman, Osamuta, optimistic of more development in 2025

Chairman, Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Warri, Uvwie and Environs Development Agency, WUEDA, Hon Prince Emeka Osamuta has expressed optimism that year 2025 will record more physical development in the mandate areas of the Agency.

Hon Osamuta made his feelings known when officials of WUEDA appeared before members of the Committee at the State Assembly Complex, Asaba, to defend the Agency’s proposed budget estimates for the 2025 fiscal year.

The Lawmaker who represents Ndokwa East Constituency and Deputy Majority Whip of the House, said he was satisfied with the fair performance of the 2024 budget of the Agency and urged the officials to up their games in 2025.

Osamuta stated that the Warri, Uvwie and Environs Development Agency as created by law must leave up to its responsibility, and stressed the need for effective stakeholders’ collaboration.

He recalled when members of the committee visited the Agency’s project sites few weeks ago for on-the-spot assessment of development in the mandate areas, stressing the need for the agency to ensure completion of all the ongoing projects.

Hon Osamuta emphasized state government’s determination to give the twin cities of Warri and Uvwie a facelift, noting that the effort should be supported by all critical stakeholders including residents in the metropolitan towns.

The House Deputy Majority Whip assured that his led committee will continue to play its role in giving the agency support to ensure it programmes are actualized.

Director General of the Agency, Prince Godwin Ejinyere in his remarks said the agency was established to fast track development in the Warri, Uvwie and Environs.

He disclosed that a number of projects expected to give the locality facelift were ongoing and would be completed in record time, while new ones would be introduced.

The DG explained that the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is committed to deliver on his promises to Deltans and expressed hope that with the support from the House Committee, the agency would record more progress when the 2025 budget is finally approved.
