The Executive Chairman of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service, IRS, Hon (Chief) Solomon Ighrakpata, has expressed warmest congratulations to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his induction into the Hall of Fame of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, and conferment of the title, ‘Omorotomo of Urhobo land’ by the traditional rulers of Urhobo nation.
Hon Ighrakpata who together with notable personalities across the globe witnessed the induction and conferment ceremony held at Urhobo House, Uvwiamuge, Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area, said Governor Oborevwori has been outstanding in promoting the welfare and development of the Urhobo people and Delta State as a whole.
According to the IRS Boss, the honour which is a major highlight of the 93rd anniversary of the 4th largest ethnic group in Nigeria, the UPU, with the theme: “Repositioning the Urhobo Nation For More Prosperity” were well deserved and encouragement to do more to uplifting prosperity in Delta state and its citizens.

He explained that “commendation for a good work done is an invitation for more work”, stressing that the actions of the leadership of the UPU and that of the kings of Urhobo ethnic nationalities would further strengthen Oborevwori’s appetite for development.
Ighrakpata, a former Deputy Chief Whip of the Delta State Assembly who represented Uvwie Constituency in the Assembly, prayed God to continue to grant the Governor the gift of wisdom and vision to lead the state.
He said, “May this recognition inspire you, Your Excellency, to continue working tirelessly for the betterment of our state and its people.
“Once again, congratulations, Your Excellency! May this honor bring you joy, pride, and continued success in your endeavours”, Ighrakpata stated.
The Executive Chairman IRS, also congratulated the UPU for its 93rd anniversary and achievements thus far, even as he expressed confidence in the leadership of the cultural organization led by Olorogun Ese Gam Owe and thanked the body for contributions to the growth and development of the Urhobo nation.
Hon Ighrakpata urged Urhobo sons and daughters to be united and to continue to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the nation, and called for massive support for Sheriff Oborevwori’s led administration.
He noted “Gov Oborevwori has performed exceptionally well for the Urhobo nation and the state at large. So it is our responsibility to reciprocate his kind gesture by supporting him wholeheartedly till 2031 and beyond.
“The giant strides recorded by the Oborevwori’s led administration has strengthened the hope and confidence of Deltans”, Ighrakpata added.
