The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem has called on the people of his constituency to rally support to the Prince Otu-led administration in delivering development to the state.
He made the call Sunday, April 14, 2024, during a sensitization tour in his constituency, Nde, Ikom 2.
in a statement, the speakers Chief Press Secretary To the SpeakerMatthew Okache, noted that the tour was necessitated by the overwhelming admiration of the people of Ikom 2 State Constituency for the Governor’s commendable democratic dividends and emphasized how political party-conscious behaviours frequently impede advancement and development in any community, particularly following elections.
The statement stated that Ayambem bemoaned the fact that the struggle for political dominance has replaced cooperative efforts to support the government in providing the people with high-quality services, and reaffirmed that party differences have been a major impediment to any administration’s success, citing positive relationship in the Tenth Assembly amidst its diverse membership.
It noted that Ayambem identify the Deputy Minority Leader, Hon. Brian Odey, w as the Labour Party’s candidate to represent Yala 1 State Constituency.
The Constituents applauded the speaker’s move to unite the people of Nde against political parties’ divergent interests, to support Governor Otu’s administration.
