…Mernyi donates operation base, motorcycles for the operation
Men of the 72 Special Battalion in conjunction with Operation Whirl Stroke, have commenced operation in Tswarev/Ukemberagya ward, Logo local government area of Benue State to curb incessant attacks by armed Fulani herdsmen on farmers in the area.
Commanding Officer, Lt Col. Keffas in his address said, the commencement of the operation was based on the concerted efforts of the CEO/MD, Simdav Standard Service Ltd, Mr. Simon Mernyi whom he said, has made several requests for the operation to ensure the safety of his people.

He called on youths in the area to corporate with the military by providing useful information that would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the evil act and regretted that the area have been neglected.
He expressed gratitude to Mr. Simon Mernyi for having the interest of his people at heart to the extent of taking responsibility for the security of his people and urged other spirited individuals in the area to emulate him.
In his remarks, the CEO/MD, Simdav Standard Service Ltd, Mr. Simon Mernyi said, it has become necessary for him to move men of the 72 battalion and operation whirl stroke to the area due to government’s negligence, and called on the local and state governments to live up to their responsibility in ensuring the safety of the citizenry.
He donated an operation base for the men of the 72 SB & Operation Whirl Stroke in Jootar, four bajah motorcycle, a generator, water tanks, standing fans, mattresses and other logistics for the smooth take off of the operation and pledged continued support for the success of the operation.
Logo Local government council chairman, Revd. Jonathan Adagbe and district head of Tswarev/Ukemberagya, Zaki Mark Igbazenda all commended Mr. Simon Mernyi for attracting the presence of the military in the area and pledged total support for the success of the operation.
