We read a poorly written statement today by the Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia who denied sponsoring his Gubernatorial Liaison Officers in the 23 local government areas of the state to demand for the removal of Senator George Akume from his position as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Alia in a statement by press secretary Kula Tersoo, for the umpteenth time, lashed out at Senator Akume whom he boasted is today the SGF because he (Alia) put him there by recommending him for the appointment. The governor went below the belt and also attacked Senator Akume’s wife Regina.
After examining Governor Alia for some time now, we have come to the conclusion that he is a very bad man. He is a conman. He is arrogant, cruel, boastful, spiteful and dangerous.
Alia is an ingrate who has turned against everyone who supported him to become the governor.
No wonder the catholic dioceses of Makurdi and Gboko suspended this man as a priest. They saw something that the rest of us couldn’t see. Today, we know better.

Benue Stakeholders Oppose Gov Alia’s Call for Removal of SGF Akume
Alia: When the Gods Want to destroy A man…
Alia is a good example of the saying “A wolf in sheep’s clothing”. The Bible warns us to beware of false prophets, who come to us in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matthew 7:15). Benue are in for the worst era in the history of the state with Alia in charge. The wolf that disguised his identity sneaked to the Government House to hoodwink the public and destroy the commonwealth of the state is on the prowl.
We gathered reliably that Alia has raised N4 billion for the “project” he has codenamed “Akume Must Go”. The only target of the project is to ensure that Senator Akume is removed as SGF by President Tinubu. The Benue State governor has been boasting that he will use money to recruit some of President Tinubu’s appointees and allies to get Senator Akume booted out.
Alia is on the project with a former governor of Benue State who also hates Akume with passion. They have been meeting in secret lately.
The thrust of the plot is to remove Akume and render him ineffective so that the former governor who is Alia’s friend can come into APC and handle the political structures while governor Alia concentrates on governance. The former governor has been promised an automatic senatorial ticket of APC.
Governor Alia is a man on a very selfish mission to destroy what is left of the image of Benue State. He is far worse than those who are called career politicians. In his case, Alia is not only dishonest and unscrupulous but is also vicious. There is nothing like equity in his vocabulary. He is nepotistic as can be seen in the appointments he has made since becoming governor.
Alia has abandoned Benue people to die in abject poverty. He also abandoned indigenous contractors and has awarded the road contracts in the state to the company owned by those who sponsored his election campaigns like the former Governor of Kaduna Nasir El Rufai.
The first personal investment Alia made just a day after he was sworn in was to bring a property developer to build his personal estate known as Lia de Villa.
Less than 5 months in office, Alia bought a house in Guzape, Abuja, worth over 500 million of naira, and many houses he is still buying in Makurdi, Kigali, New York, London and other cities for his numerous women and children. He bought a car also worth N500 million.
The man better known as Ohitty is already building a 5-Star hotel in Kigali, Rwanda where he visited last year. Rwanda is Africa’s hottest tourist destination now, so owning a hotel in that country is a huge investment.

In just a few months in office, Alia forced the Executive Council to increase his approval limit from N50 million to N250 million naira. This was a grand plan to steal Benue’s money. He now has no reason to depend on the state Exco for approvals.
We may tolerate Alia’s other excesses, but his latest attack on Senator Akume is unacceptable and we will not fold our hands and watch this fake man continuously humiliate our leader. No Tiv son has ever been made the SGF before. Now that God has smiled at Tiv land and elevated Senator Akume to that seat, Alia who is a key beneficiary of Akume’s benevolence is the very person pulling him down.
Anyone who is close to Governor Hyacinth Alia should tell him that before Senator Akume goes down, he Alia will be the first to go down!
