Rivers State Governor, Gov Nyesom Wike, has redeemed the N50m pledge he made to support the university of Mkar, Benue state.
The Governor made the pledge on March 19, 2022, at the 5 Billion development fund organised by the Universal Reformed Church of Christ, URCC, which took place at its Campus in Mkar, Gboko Local Government.
According to an undisclosed, the pledge was redeemed by Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State to the university.
The appeal fund was organised to funds for the expansion and upgrade of facilities of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor, University of Mkar, Prof. Zacharys Gundu at the event explained that funds will be channelled to hostels, library, research among other things.
“We need to improve on our municipal services, expand hostel facilities and upgrade the library, research and laboratory facilities,” he said.
