Benue State Governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia says his former Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Professor Joseph Alkali was a thief.

He stated this in a Church at the thanksgiving service in honour of the new Benue State Secretary to the Government, Serumun Aber Esq.

Alia who spoke in Tiv language accused the former SSG of stealing information about the state and selling it to other states noting that it took a long time before he discovered it.

Professor Joseph Alkali was appointed as SSG by Governor Hyacinth Alia in 2023 but resigned in September 2024. Before his appointment, he was a professor at the Joseph Sarwuan Tarkaa University, Makurdi.
