Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has said that the invaluable contributions of the Armed Forces in maintaining peace, stability, and security in Nigeria would remain indelible in the minds of the people.

Rt Hon Guwor, in his goodwill message on the Commemoration of the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, paid tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifices in defense of the nation.

He said their selflessness, courage, and loyalty to Nigeria are an inspiration to all, even as he acknowledged the sacrifices made by their families and loved ones.

The Speaker whose Goodwill Message was contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, said “as a nation, we must continue to support our Armed Forces and veterans and ensuring that their welfare is prioritized”.

Rt Hon Guwor who is the National Treasurer Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, stressed that every stakeholder owes it a duty to help create environment that promotes peace, unity, and prosperity in the country.

He stated that the Delta State House of Assembly is committed to supporting the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori in maintaining strong synergy with the Armed Forces, as demonstrated in his pledge of continuous assistance to their operations in the state.

The Speaker noted that as the nation continues to remember and celebrate the bravery of the fallen heroes, the best way to honour their memory is by working towards a brighter future for the country.

Rt Hon Guwor prayed for continued peace and stability in Nigeria.

He said, “As we commemorate the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, I, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, pay tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation. Their selflessness, courage, and loyalty to Nigeria are an inspiration to us all.

“We, at the Delta State House of Assembly, will continue to legislate and work towards creating an environment that promotes peace, unity, and prosperity not only in Delta State but the country at large.

“May we never forget the sacrifices of our Armed Forces, as I pray for continued peace and stability in Nigeria”, Guwor stated.
