Benue State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said it is poised for victory as the 2023 general elections draw nearer considering the quality of candidates it has fielded.
Bemgba Iortyom, the State’s publicity Secretary to the party made this know in the statement he issued today, October 26, 2022.
The statement reads: “As the 2023 general elections draw closer the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State is primed for victory in all of the elective positions it has fielded candidates.
“For the governorship the party has on its ticket Engr. Titus Tyoapine Uba who got fielded from his position as the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly.
“With the pedigree of a two-term state legislator under his belt, Engr. Uba and his amiable wife, Paulina Uba, bring to the race the reassurance of stability and experience which over the decades have proven to be intrinsically necessary ingredients in the making of a successful governorship of Benue.
“From Aper Aku to George Akume to Gabriel Suswam to Samuel Ortom, the governorship has been a tag team of couples who have held sway over the broad spectrum of the various components of our society.
“The dynamics have been such that whereas the governor minds the broader and more arduous front of day to day statecraft, the First Lady mans the delicate but equally important home front where everything, no matter how highly must still melt into.
“To a very great extent the persona of the First Lady has proven to be the ultimate shine on the governoship era, with Victoria Aku and her dazzling smile an indelible and unforgettable decimal on the Aper Aku era, while the irrepressible and urbane Regina Akume exuded the panache of the Amazon that she was and still is to this day.
“Architect Yemisi Dooshima Suswam was a fusion of the modern-day blend of womanhood imbued with Godly virtue and the drive for feminine excellence, and in her time spawned a school of apostles who are to date in their various endeavours radiating the virtue, drive and excellence she ingrained in them.
“Incumbent First Lady, Dr. Mrs. Eunice Erdoo Ortom, has broadened as well as deepened the horizons of First Ladyship, in a unique blend of the fine points of her predecessors; the mercurial winsomeness of Victoria Aku, the effervescent presence of Regina Akume, the Godly virtue of Yemisi Dooshima Suswam.
“But like Thomas Edison, she has capped it all with a fine steel of determination on a mission to lift and better the fortunes of the womenfolk of Benue, with results replete in the socio-economic sphere where her Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF) is impacting positively and massively the women and girl child empowerment drive, while in the political arena, the female gender has achieved unprecedented closeness to parity with the menfolk in terms of both elective and appointive office holding.

“This is the precedence which makes the governorship candidature of Engr. Titus Uba most exciting with the presence beside and behind him of his amiable wife, Paulina Uba, who from available facts is of about the finest breed of womanhood to be found, a woman whose home is already famous as a haven of hospitality to as many as go there.
“Her closeness to and working relationship with incumbent First Lady, Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom, is a clincher as it portends and strongly inspires confidence that the virtue and capacity of the incumbent has readily found veritable connection with the in-coming, such that the baton transfer on the relay race of the Benue First Ladyship will be smooth and the steam of the race sustained.
“With Engr. Titus Tyoapine Uba and his pristinely amiable wife, Paulina Uba, PDP offers to the Benue electorate a governoship choice easy to make, as it brings to them all at once stability, experience and performance synergy on the continuum of government when they take over from Samuel and Eunice Ortom as the First Family of Benue State come 2023.”
